01 / MEET US OUT THERE

Prepare
to join.

Use your regular Steam copy of Project Zomboid. This is the multiplayer path.

  1. Match the server’s game build

In Steam, open Project Zomboid → Properties and use the current Stable branch matching 42.21.0. Confirm the version on the main menu.

  2. Check the server status

Use the status and connection panel below. If the server is starting, offline or undergoing maintenance, wait for it to become available.

    Open connection details
  3. Let Steam install the server pack

Open Join → Favorites → Add server. Enter the address and game port below, choose your in-game username and save the favorite. Connect and accept the required Workshop downloads. Wait until installation finishes, then continue.

The server supplies its required item list, including Steamy’s Multi Compatibility; the files download from Steam Workshop.

Dates use Finland time, Europe/Helsinki. A season wipe resets multiplayer world and character progress, vehicles, claims and factions. Ordinary 12-hour restarts keep your progress. Solo worlds are separate.

OPTIONAL / DOWNLOAD AHEAD

Multi
downloads.

All required Multi mods install through Steam Workshop. No separate mod installer is required for joining. The Multi collection is optional advance installation and includes our Multi Compatibility item.

Testing / work in progress. These downloads are available now. Read the release notes for verified changes and gameplay checks still pending.

Steamy’s Multi collection

Choose Subscribe to all in the Multi collection, wait for Steam downloads to finish, then fully restart the game.

Open the Multi collection

Steamy’s Multi Compatibility

The server’s own compatibility item keeps native creation screens and supported custom destinations, traits and bonuses. Its Multi selection excludes singleplayer story starts and the NPC pack.

Steamy’s Multi Compatibility

Already using Steamy’s Solo?

Saved presets do not remove separately installed native files. Read the Solo-to-Multi switching note before joining from that installation.

KEEP THE WORLD TURNING

Know the
routine.

Save the server as a favorite and watch Discord for maintenance updates.

Room to breathe. Time to restart.

EVERY 12 HOURS

Planned restarts keep the world running smoothly. Find somewhere safe and disconnect before a restart.

  • 06:00
  • 18:00

All times are Finland time (Europe/Helsinki), including daylight saving time. Planned in-game warnings: 10, 5 and 1 minutes before each restart.

Your progress stays

Scheduled cleanup rotates logs and maintains backups. Routine restarts preserve world and player progress.

The server picks its own mods

Steamy’s Multi is the server’s saved default. Joining uses that list; it does not require replacing your saved Solo preset. Fully restart the client when switching modes to clear loaded assets.

Boats, comfort and everyday survival — Multi 0.4.5

The expanded selection adds boats and crab fishing, horses, Hug The Plushie, Curl Up, Real Vending, Cye’s Push Doors, trait magazines, Rain Cleans Blood, Take A Bath And Shower, Project Seasons, moving while equipping clothing, Repairable Windows, More On The Floor, Rebalanced Prop Moving, More Car Features, and Fitness Workout Overhaul with its equipment addon. Carriable Visual Items and Starlit Library provide required support.

Original author files remain unchanged. Our boat bridge prevents swimming effects while aboard and expires old boarding records. Automatic vehicle fuel pumps are disabled to preserve existing tanker refueling. Existing exercise equipment preferences remain in place.

Vanilla Vehicles Animated is omitted because its current engine/offscreen animation defect affects RV use. Light On Belt is also omitted after compatibility review. Requested mods already in the pack remain included. Horses may need newly visited areas; old-world ranch coverage is not guaranteed. One author-provided ranch zone has invalid coordinates and is rejected by the game; that location may not spawn horses. No replacement coordinate has been guessed.

Join with Steam online and allow the required downloads to finish. Subscribing to the Multi collection is optional preinstallation. Multi requires no separate Java agent or native installer. Barricade The Door is excluded from Multi.

Personal hugging, curling up and bath/shower benefits keep normal pacing. Rain cleanup, plumbing and environmental weather retain world timing. Project Seasons follows the annual Finnish world calendar; it does not turn the two-month wipe cycle into a full year.

Season 1 restarted with a fresh world on 29 September 2026; existing login accounts remain, along with normal-rate needs and eight-times base book reading. The current selection contains 344 Workshop items and 394 mod IDs, including Project Arcade. Prior core gameplay and TV playback were player-confirmed; new author interactions remain for player testing.

Joining Multi uses the server’s ordered mod list. You do not need to run Solo’s AutoSort setup to join.

New Workshop additions: driving, documents, sheets and media

Let Me Drive!, It is of interest to me!, Fitted Sheets and Expanded Media are included in this selection. They add vehicle-control adjustments, readable documents, fitted window sheets, and extra TV shows and VHS tapes. True Cargo was already included.

Join the server with Steam online and allow its required Workshop downloads to finish. Subscribing to the Multi collection is optional preinstallation. These additions need no separate installer.

Expanded Media adds broadcast and recorded content. Availability follows that mod’s normal schedule and loot; installing it does not restart the season or promise every show is airing now.

The compatibility addon includes Expanded Media’s three channels in the TV controls. Channels without a matching video show a neutral static picture; familiar supported video playback remains available. The new channel interactions have not yet been checked live.

In Let Me Drive! options, turn off Smooth on foot and leave Shed heavy per-frame work above at 0 (off). These are per-player settings; experimental callback shedding stays off.

Before uninstalling Fitted Sheets, take its fitted sheets off your windows. Otherwise invisible sheets may remain and still block sight.

How do needs work with the real-time calendar?

The calendar follows Finnish real time. The Multi compatibility addon restores the default pace of the selected personal needs while Stats Decrease remains Normal.

Calories, carbohydrates, fat, protein and body-weight changes follow the native normal-day pace. Food still counts once, and exercise, temperature and traits still affect metabolism.

Lifestyle bladder, hygiene, comfort, passive mood benefits and personal buff durations follow normal-day pacing. Active music and hobby XP already run at that pace; their reward amounts stay native. One-time unlocks still happen once.

Native traits, food, actions and automatic drinking still matter. Direct boredom, unhappiness and endurance are not globally multiplied. Sleep remains disabled under the existing server policy.

TVRadio ReInvented: display settings and videos

The server includes TVRadio ReInvented in its required Workshop downloads. You do not need to copy videos or install a separate player component.

The author recommends turning off Texture Compression and UI Offscreen Rendering in the game’s display options. Apply the settings and restart the game. These are your client settings; the server cannot set them for you.

On Build 42, video files load from the mod’s Workshop folder. Follow the current author instructions; old manual video-copy steps are unnecessary. Live Multi TV interface and video playback were confirmed by a player on 27 September 2026. Vehicle media, controller and remote-control interactions remain unobserved; see the release notes for completed checks.

Workshop version differs from the server

Exit the game, finish Steam’s queued downloads, then reconnect. Check Discord for a server update or restart. If the mismatch remains, share the Workshop item ID and relevant log lines. Do not rename versions or replace Workshop manifests to hide the mismatch.

Downloads do not start or an item is unavailable

Check Steam is online and downloads are not paused. A private or unavailable required Workshop item cannot be downloaded by a new player; report its ID to the team. Use the Multi compatibility link above and report an unavailable item; do not substitute the Solo compatibility item.

Cannot connect or see a port warning

Confirm the current address, game port 16261 and exact build. The server uses UDP ports 16261 and 16262. Players normally do not need to forward these ports on their own router. On the host’s own network, try the LAN address in the connection panel.

If it still fails, share the exact connection message in Discord. A port warning alone does not prove which part failed.

The character preview takes time or the game exits

Large mod packs can take time to load character assets. If the game exits, keep %USERPROFILE%\Zomboid\console.txt and check the game installation folder for a new hs_err_pid*.log. Share the game build, the amount of RAM on your PC, and the first error lines when asking for help.

If the fatal log says there is insufficient memory or a native memory allocation failed, close memory-heavy apps and check your Windows paging-file settings. Automatic paging-file growth can be too slow during a memory spike; Microsoft explains how to set a suitable initial paging-file size. A paging-file change needs a PC restart. Each player must make this change on their own PC; the game server cannot set it for them.
